SMS Terms of Service
Understand the texts you may receive about your receivership matter, your choices, and how to reach us.
Last updated:
1. Purpose & consent
These terms cover optional text messages from The Receivers Office (“TRO”). TRO acts as a court-appointed receiver under the court’s authority. Messages concern your receivership matter and agreed payment arrangements.
Texts begin only after you expressly agree to receive them at the mobile number you provide. By choosing SMS, you agree to these program terms. Signing a payment or case agreement does not, by itself, enroll you in SMS.
2. Messages you may receive
Depending on your case and the consent you provide, TRO may text you about:
- Upcoming payments, your payment schedule, and payment confirmations.
- Case developments and updates about your payment arrangement.
- Documents or information needed for your receivership matter.
- Answers to questions you send to our office.
This SMS program is for case communications, rather than promotional advertising. Messages may be sent automatically.
3. Frequency & charges
Message frequency varies with activity in your case and your payment schedule. Message and data rates may apply under your wireless plan. Your carrier sets those charges, and any such charges are your responsibility.
4. Stopping text messages
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message you receive from TRO. We will record your request and stop further messages from this program. A final confirmation of your opt-out may be sent.
You can also ask to stop SMS by calling or emailing our office. Requests in other clear wording will be honored. Ending texts changes your communication preference; it does not cancel your payment arrangement or court obligations.
5. Help & contact
For help, reply HELP to any message you receive from TRO, or contact our office directly:

6. Privacy & SMS information
We do not sell or disclose mobile numbers, SMS subscription choices, or consent records to third parties for their marketing or advertising.
Consumer data will not be transferred to external organizations except service providers acting solely on our behalf for operational support. Those providers are contractually prohibited from independent use or further disclosure of your information.
For information about our broader data practices, read the TRO Privacy Policy.
7. Your mobile number
Provide a current number that you are authorized to use. Tell TRO if you change your number or stop using it so we can update your communication preferences.
8. Message delivery
Network, carrier, or device issues may delay or prevent delivery. Text reminders do not replace your signed documents. Refer to your judgment, court order, and payment agreement for applicable dates and requirements, and contact TRO if you have questions.
9. Updates to these terms
Revisions will appear on this page with an updated date. A revision does not itself authorize new message categories or restart texts after an opt-out. TRO will obtain additional consent when required.
